About the Multfilin Street Animation Festival

Hello! My name is Anna, Founder and Director of the Multfilin Street Animation Festival (www.cartoonfest.mobi).
The Multfilin Street Animation Festival is an international creative project for children and teenagers aged 4 to 18, dedicated to the development of animation and the support of young creators.
The festival brings together participants from different regions and countries and gives everyone the opportunity to create their own animated film using accessible tools – from smartphones to any everyday materials.

The main idea of the project – to show that animation is accessible to everyone, and that a modern smartphone is not only a tool for games and social media, but also a full creative studio for telling original stories.

The main goal of the project – to develop creative potential in children and teenagers, promote animation as an art form, and encourage visual thinking through accessible technologies.

Project history
The festival was first launched in the summer of 2020 in Moscow as an experimental initiative focused on creating animation using mobile devices.
The idea quickly resonated with children, parents, and educators. In its first season, the organizers received more than one hundred animated works created in various techniques and covering a wide range of themes – from sports and fantasy stories to cultural and local heritage topics.
In the following years, the project expanded into an open international platform for young animators.
From 2020 to 2023, more than 3,000 young creators took part in the festival. Their works were created using a wide range of materials – plasticine, paper, fabric, cardboard, and even everyday objects – highlighting the idea of accessibility and creative freedom.
Participation and jury
Participants have the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience and receive professional evaluation.
The jury includes directors and artists from leading animation studios, lecturers from specialized educational programs, and representatives of the contemporary animation industry.
Open platform
The Multfilin festival develops as an open creative space where every participant can experiment, create, and share their stories.
